About me
I'm Cruzsilla Gutiérrez, a Mexican American author and the founder of Creations by Cru, a creative studio devoted to publishing coloring books and Bible study journals that celebrate Latino cultural heritage and accompany the life of faith.
I write and design around a simple conviction: spiritual resources can be beautiful, culturally rooted and deeply biblical all at once. My books combine writing, illustration, and space for personal reflection — made for people who want to read the Bible slowly and let what they read stay with them.
On Bible in One Year I carry that same line into the daily reflection format: short pieces, rooted in Scripture, in plain English — to read at the start of the day or at the close, whichever works for you.

Editorial stance and approach
I write from an evangelical, non-denominational Christian perspective, with respect for the broader historic Christian tradition and for readings offered by other branches of the faith. The detailed stance and the writing process are explained in the editorial policy.
- Short, applicable pieces. A few minutes to read, written so that something stays with you through the day.
- Responsible reading of the text. Every quotation is set in its context. I don't lift verses to prop up a point.
- Without pretending to have all the answers. Some passages are genuinely hard. I try to name the difficulty rather than hide it.
- No prosperity, no hype. I don't promise miracles, material blessings, or spiritual shortcuts.
Bible translation
Quotations come from the English Standard Version (ESV) — a widely-used, word-for-word English translation. When a Hebrew or Greek original adds an important nuance, I'll point it out.
Contact
I read every email. If you find an error in a quotation or an interpretation, tell me and I'll correct it — see the corrections policy.
